Dr. Heather Carey

​

Dr. Carey is the founder of Laurelwood Veterinary Hospital and established the company in 2004.  She lives outside of Waterloo with her 2 sons, her Shorkie Obie and her cat Sarah.  She received her Bachelor of science from the University of Guelph and graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1999.

Dr. Alison Rideout

​

In 2013 Dr. Rideout became co-owner of Laurelwood Veterinary Hospital.    She received her Bachelor of Science from Mount Allison University and her DVM from Atlantic Veterinary College in 2002.  She resides outside of Waterloo with her husband and 3 children.  She shares her home with her Standard Poodle Pippa and silly Dalmation Higbee.

Dr. Kathleen Knight

Dr. Knight graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2002.  Prior to that she obtained her Bachelor of Science with a major in Biological Sciences from the University of Lethbridge.  She also completed a PhD from the University of British Columbia's Faculty of Medicine in fetal physiology.  She shares her home with her husband and 2 daughters.  Her passions include travelling, reading and quilting.

Dr. Leah Wilhelm

Dr. Wilhelm received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Guelph in 2011 and graduated from The Ontario Veterinary College in 2015.  She is a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practioner and enjoys using this knowledge to help her patients recover from injuries and improve their well-being.  She also specializes in Behavioural Therapy. She shares her home with her husband, daughter and Border Collie Beacon. In her free time she enjoys training with her dogs, reading and scrapbooking.

Dr. Allison Pender

​

Dr. Pender graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2015, after completing a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Guelph in Biological Science and a minor in Nutrition. She spent three years in Ottawa practicing emergency and general medicine. After learning tremendous amounts about medicine and surgery, she decided to make the move back to Southern Ontario with her husband to be closer to family.  Outside of work, she values her time spent with her husband, their son and rescue kitty named Noelle.  She joined Laurelwood in January 2021.
